Regular readers may remember a post a few months ago about a nice email from Oxford University, which was a notification of a conditional offer of a place to study Mathematics and Computer Science at Keble College, Oxford.
Exactly one week ago, A level and AEA results were published in the UK. I needed 3 A grades in order to get into Oxford. Luckily, I managed to achieve that, and had some room to spare:

I've got a few weeks remaining before term starts in October, and then I'll be in for one hell of a ride.

Lucky... should have never taken IB...
Great job mate! That's amazing!
I'm looking into Imperial because for Oxford with the IB it is social suicide. You need to get 4 As and 2 Bs...
Results
Fantastic results there, solid As across the board. Congrats, and enjoy Oxford uni!
thanks for that post
thanks for that post
Excellent
Badass! Just stumbled across your blog, but, that's a WONDERFUL opportunity. Congrats!
Viva!
Corsix, you're the nice fellow! The excellent result!
AEA / STEP
My backup/insurance offer was to study mathematics at Warwick, and they required AABb along with a merit (or better) in mathematics AEA, or a 2 (or better) in a STEP paper. As the mathematics AEA was offered by the same exam board which I did my mathematics and further mathematics A levels with, I felt it a better choice than STEP. I had used STEP papers for preparation for the Oxford admissions test, and I thought that they were fairly nasty, which didn't count in their favour when coming to choose between them and AEA. There was also the fact that AEA is a free-standing qualification which also happens to give UCAS points, whereas STEP is pretty much only an admissions test.
Hooray!
Good work Corsix :) I hope Oxford is good fun.
I'm not sure what I have to do to get past the spam comments. Um, write some more I guess? la la la la.
Well done!
Well done man! Especially on the AEA result. Did you do that just for the challenge, or was it part of some offer? Computing is probably the hardest to do well in there as, despite the course being easy, the mark scheme is just stupid. (Unless they've fixed that in the last few years)
I actually did the same subjects as you, except with STEP 2 and STEP 3 instead of AEA Mathematics.
Hope you enjoy the maths anyway. Will that just be the first year or all the way through? I know at Cambridge it is really just in the first year then you choose which way you want to go.
